BioBridge

Integrative Genomics and Chronic Disease Phenotypes: modelling and simulation tools for clinicians

Fact Sheet
Final Report

2007-2010

The main objective of the BioBridge project was the integration of clinical and operational data with genomic and proteomic data in chronic prevalent disorders such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes and heart failure. This allowed the development of simulation tools accessible via an internet portal.

The project focussed on systemic repercussions from the different chronic diseases, in particular COPD, and analysed in detail the nitroso-redox balance as a common, representative physiopathological pathway of the systemic effects coming from these diseases.
